Our data… lost?

Data on the internet won’t always be there…

People usually assume that information will always be there, one Google search away. However, after a while or for various reasons, it often

happens that a site, a blog, etc. stops appearing in search results and/or is removed from the web. In that case a “Bookmark” or a “Favourite” is no longer any use. That’s why it’s good practice to save content that really matters, for example in Google Docs.

Even so, there are some useful resources that can sometimes let us recover information from a site or page that no longer exists. For example:

* https://archive.org/ An interesting site that takes “snapshots” over days, months and years, recording changes and documents that have since been deleted. Just enter the site or link in the central search bar and choose from the available dates.

*Google Cache
Here we can see the version of the site from the last time Google visited it. It isn’t as powerful as the previous resource, but it can be useful.
Just click the arrow next to the site’s address and choose the “Cached” option
